Slats Diary Reflects School and Small Town Life
A diary style entry records a week of observations and misadventures from Slats. It mentions Sunday church attendance, a church teacher warning children about morals, a birthday party for boys and girls, a speeding stop by an officer, a bruised arm, laughable reprimands, jokes about fish as brain food, and July Fourth and Christmas holidays. The tone mimics a rural newspaper note on daily morals and community happenings.
