J M Huston resigns as superintendent of schools to become District Farm Agent for Andrew Atchison Norway counties. He will earn 2000 dollars yearly and begins duties this week in Maryville with Mrs Huston filling his school role for the remainder of the term. He bought a new car in Milan Friday afternoon and will base his new work in Maryville for the present.
The fifteen day Union meeting at Winigan closed Sunday March 24 with three converts at the final service. Thirty four people professed conversion across twenty five services and joined Baptist Methodist or Christian churches. Rev Reed of Green City set preaching dates March 3 and March 31 at 11 am and 7 30 pm at the Baptist church. Rev Bullock to preach at North Salem 11 am and Mt Hope 7 30 pm March 31.
A California correspondent in Chico dated March 19 1918 asks for the March 10 issue of a newspaper to continue reading The Ranch at Wolverine. He notes good winter storms and frost effects on almonds, and expresses hope for the war’s end and returning troops.
Kenley and Smith offer 130 head of extra fine Colorado sheep at Browning stock yards on Saturday March 30. The ewes are of good breed, aged well and well fleeced. Invest in cheap.
