March brings variable weather as spring approaches. Mr and Mrs Will Pulliam of Milan visited Saturday and Mrs Pulliam along with Mrs Lucy Cotter shopped in Brookfield.
Mrs. Mary Bird of Milan works in Kansas City and Mrs. Meda Stone along with Mrs. Cor die Swisegood shopped in Purdin on Saturday. Mrs. Mary Wolfe moved to Linneus last weekend. Derwood Payne, son of Dr. Payne, was ill but is able to go out again. Red Cross workers collected funds last week and were very successful. Mrs. Velma Hill returns home after time in Kansas City. Mrs. Cherley Pulliam and sister Nannie Tipton will visit Irene Smithers and care for the Smithers children while her husband rests in a veterans hospital awaiting a chest operation.
Lee Wood and son Don visited in Brookfield on business while Arthur Griffiths and family stayed in Linneus. Fred Creason and Rollan Gooch traveled to Brookfield for teaching examinations. Don Wood attended a dinner at Nova Gooch’s in Purdin. The Kimbroughs, Red Gooch, and C M Goins parties were also in Brookfield or Linneus on various Saturday visits.
