Notable Afternoon Meeting and Refreshments Reported

In the absence of Mrs Jenk a welcome is noted with quotations from jeton and a bio sketch by Miss Haymaker. A Bible reading by Sam was edited by Mrs Minnie Dun after a lesson on the study. Mrs Hermia ns won a favor. Refreshments of cakes and sherbet followed as guests enjoyed the afternoon entertainment.

Gibson Buys Far mers and Traders Bank at Dawn Mo

S L Gibson of the Peoples Bank purchased the Farmers and Traders Bank at Dawn Missouri in February. The bank, a private institution, has capital stock of 5009 and a certified surplus of 1000. Gibson’s son, Central National 8, will be in charge and Arthur is noted as the youngest cashier in Missouri with many friends.

Hand Crushed In Farm Accident Returns Home

Last Saturday afternoon Frank Peters a well known farmer living west of town was working with machinery when a hand was caught. Doctors Epperson and Whaley found the hand badly crushed and removed the little finger. Peters is recovering but will need months to regain use of the hand.
