Mrs. Zella Woodworth announces her bid for the Browning city tax collector office in the upcoming election. She has held the office and is praised as one of the city's best collectors by residents and supporters.

Mr and Mrs Guy Adams hosted a dinner Sunday March 1 with guests Mr and Mrs RM Calhoun and son James Dr and Mrs W D Grice and son Phillip Bond Mr and Mrs WH Dickinson and son Harvey Fields and Miss Allaire Fields The two course meal prepared by Mrs Adams with help from her mother Mrs Elizabeth Fields, made for a very pleasant day. the Adams are known as genial hosts and a day at their home is an enjoyable event.

Last Thursday afternoon from 4 to 6 o clock about twenty young people attended a party in honor of Miss Opal Coon s thirteenth birthday. Mrs Coon assisted by Oma Atkins and Elizabeth Dearing planned the event with games and treats. Refreshments included cookies candy and apples and Opal received many gifts with teachers Eunice Dickinson Lilah F Williams and Allaire Fields among the invited guests.

Lloyd Norvell and Miss Vera Riddle surprised friends by marrying last Saturday evening February 28 at the Methodist parsonage with Rev. James L. Bate officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Riddle and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl C. Norvell of the city. They will reside on the Lantz farm northwest of town and host many friends.
Mr and Mrs L C Lantz entertained Sunday March 1 with a two course one o clock dinner. Guests included Dr and Mrs H B Epperson Mr and Mrs J P Turner Mr and Mrs J B Harvey and Mr and Mrs C B In. The afternoon was spent in social conversation and guests departed with a memory of a very pleasant day.

Alex Franklin of Bethel Kansas bought the 100 acre Schrock estate heirs farm for 51 dollars per acre. The Franklins arrived in Milan on Monday afternoon to claim the property and plan to move soon. They are readers of the Leader Record and say the ad prompted the purchase. Some say it does not pay to advertise.
S L Gibson president of the Chillicothe Trust Company retires after disposing of his entire interest and leaving R L Rawlins as new president. Monday night at the Electric Theatre Brown defeated Leland McCollum in North Salem in a three fall wrestling match against Billy Brown of Marcelline. Brown won the first round in about twelve minutes, McCollum took the second in ten, and Brown claimed the third in nineteen. A small crowd attended this bout compared with the previous match.
