Robert Lambert suffered a painful back injury Saturday when the tractor he was crank ing kicked, throwing him and tearing ligaments from the spine. He was rushed to Dr Kroger for treatment and will be unable to work for some time. The State Board of Health has launched a hotel and rooming house compliance drive, with inspectors ordered to ensure safety and sanitary standards are met.
B H Peterson, local dealer for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., receives a bronze plaque and personal letter from P W Litchfield praising twenty years of loyal service. The plaque features the Goodyear plant, the Goodyear Zeppelin deck, and transportation imagery.
Smith and Herman Smith return from a trip to Bagwell Dam and other sites, reporting an enjoyable journey. Miss Lois Riley stays with Mrs. Bevier in Shelby this week. The Home Coming at the Methodist Church was well attended with a noon crowd and plentiful lunch baskets. Afternoon talks were enjoyed by all. Visitors included Mr. and Mrs. Walter McKay and others. after noon callers were Mr. and Mrs. Myron Williams and families.
