Winter Institute and Missouri Horticulture Board Report
The Missouri State Board of Horticulture held its Winter Institute during Farmers Week in Columbia January 5 8 1909. The event drew fourteen state organizations and aimed to widen reach beyond horticulture through talks on packing marketing and orchard management. Delegates visited fruit regions, discussed inspections of orchards and nurseries, and considered a state pest inspection system overseen by a competent entomologist. Pamphlets and the annual report were made available free via the Secretary. N Z Mundell bought seven head of registered Jerseys in Labell, bringing his herd to eighteen and affirming dairy as profitable.
