Funeral Services Held at the Knifong Church

Minerva Isabelle Maxey died January 1 1951 at Green City Missouri aged 78. Born at Nebraska City Nebraska on September 7 1872 she married John Webster Pipes in 1891 and after his death wed F E Maxey in 1948. Surviving are husband two brothers a sister and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Burial followed at Kaifong cemetery with services in Green City and Knifong church.

In the Liberty basketball tournament final day on Saturday January 6 Laredo Rothville Laclede Ethel Galt and Liberty contested for trophies. Laredo girls upset Rothville Rothville Grubbs led with 24 points while Laredo’s Toughroe had 9. Laclede beat Ethel 33 24 in girls play and 38 23 in boys. Liberty edged Galt 33 30 in girls and won the boys game 32 30 for the title. Payne Galt and Green Liberty tied for high with 9 each.
