A Browning Missouri woman wed an inmate in a county jail corridor after he allegedly transported a vehicle from Tacoma to Los Angeles and back to Missouri. The ceremony drew attention as police detained an accomplice, and local papers voiced mixed reaction to the unusual nuptial.
Roy Elliott and Pearl Sevier were married at the Christian parsonage in Milan by Rev. J W Langary at high noon. The groom, son of J D Elliott, and the bride, daughter of J W Sevier, come from prominent county families and will begin life on the farm near Browning. They plan a brief stop in Kansas City before settling into housekeeping on the farm, with many friends offering congratulations.
