The Sunshine Workers club met with Mrs Will Burkholder on January 27 for an all day session. Quilting was the day’s work though the quilts were far from finished due to icy conditions. A noon dinner was served in the dining room after three weeks apart. At two o'clock the business meeting was called to order by the vice-president.

The club held a singing gathering starting with Blessed Assurance. Roll call included gifts from the hostess. Mrs Frank Miller Millie Ann Miller Dies at 91 in Purdin
Millie Ann Kennedy Miller died at her home in Purdin on Monday January 18 1937 aged 91 years 11 months and 27 days. She was born January 21 1845 in Linn County Missouri and married James Frank Miller in 1870. Survivors include sons William C Miller Neziea McNally and Chas V Miller all of Purdin along with five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral held Tuesday at 1 pm at the home conducted by W V Louthan with Bear Branch cemetery burial.

Alma Cotter demonstrated dyeing washing and uses of silks rayons and satins and Arthur Bennett won a sentence-making contest from New Year letters. Closing the meeting with Doxology Richard Mundell performed rock songs with sister Mary Lee on the uke.
