After a car crash leaves three sisters motherless, Aunt Olympia and Senator Alencon Delaporte Slopshire take in Helen Adele and Limpy. Olympia seeks to move them to Washington as political assets while Len Hardesty falls for Adele and Dave Cooper becomes the campaign’s publicity chief.
In the morning Cecil Dodd visits Aunt Olympia who, after resisting the girls, offers him a minor role in the campaign. She explains the job involves managing their voter appeal and coordinating with Dave Cooper, with Cecil eager to prove himself and meet the nieces. Adele catches little of Cecil’s attention as he focuses on the opportunity.
