John Thurlo son of Columbus and Katherine Thurlo died December 23 1938 at age 69 years 7 months 4 days after a life in Missouri. He married Ella Johnson in 1894 and leaves two sons Gale and Vane, one brother H N Thurlo and two grandchildren. A deacon and teacher at Locust Valley Baptist Church he was active in the county association. Funeral services were held December 25 at Locust Valley Baptist Church with Rev. A H Smith officiating. Interment Hoover Cemetery.
