Mildred Doris Gooch born April 1 1916 died December 16 1942 at 26 years 8 months 16 days. She left husband Glenn Rhodes and two children Mary Darlene who died in infancy and Richard Glenn surviving. Survived by father Leon Gooch Browning sister Juanita Page Chicago brothers Herman and Jack Gooch Chicago and Clifford Gooch Browning. Funeral December 18 at 2 30 at Browning Methodist Church with Rev C J Chappell and local pallbearers. Burial Jenkins cemetery under Schoene's.

Mrs. Edward Reed Lara Ann McCown died December 17 1942 at Gainesville Missouri after a life spanning Linn Sullivan and Jefferson Counties. She leave her husband two children Effie Lee who died in infancy and Alfred Lawrence sister Nancy Jerome Browning brother Thomas McCown Browning and many relatives. Funeral services were held December 19 1942 at Mt Olive Baptist Church with Rev C J Chappell. burial followed in Mt Olive Cemetery.

George W. Anderson died at his Linneus home Sunday after a period of failing health. Born June 13, 1876 in Enterprise township, he was a former Linn County sheriff. Survived by his wife, two sons, three grandchildren and three sisters Mrs. W. F. Peters Browning Mrs. A. J. Knapp Laclede and Mrs. Frank Young Seattle Wash. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Linnews Wednesday afternoon.

Happy Workers Club Meeting Noted by Grace Pipes

Eighteen members and several guests attended the Happy Workers Club gathering at Grace Pipes home on Wednesday December 16. A noon dinner followed as members tied two comforters. Mrs Della Sayers played piano while Mrs Bernice Lawrence led a devotional based on Matthew 3. Mrs Lenore Knight spoke on making the most of a child’s heredity and several members shared notes. Contest winners included Mrs Ona Franklin and Mrs Helen Shaw with prizes for the largest load brought by Mrs Carrie Morris. Four Sunshine Workers Club teens met December 15 at Mrs. Wayne Stufflebean's home for an all day session. James G Harmon born June 10 1852 near Cora Missouri died December 11 1942 in Cushing Oklahoma at 3 40 am age 90 6. He moved from Missouri to Oklahoma territory in 1906 and lived on a farm near Agra fifteen years. Survived by wife Mary J Harmon seven sons four daughters and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He leaves relatives and friends and two in armed forces. A memorial verse closes the notice.
