The Marty Ann Theatre in Milan presents We're Not Married a light comedy from Twenty Century Fox. Five pairs of supposedly married couples discover they are not married after two years and chaos ensues with stars Ginger Rogers Fred Allen Marilyn Monroe and David Wayne providing comic performances. Also advertised is My Son John starring Helen Hayes Van Heflin Robert Walter and Dean Jagger at the same venue with shows December 16 17 and 18.
The Scottsville 4 H Club held a November 28 gathering at the American Legion Hall Browning with card games and shuffleboard. Miss Mathis and Mr. Smith aided organization as Raymond Smith Grace Mathis and many families attended. Refreshments included sandwiches chips cookies and coffee and members decided to pursue a song book for each member. The meeting also included a Red Cross donation and plan for a Watch Party New Year’s Eve at Elma Brinkley’s with a December 18 Christmas exchange and upcoming meetings.
Members met December 3 with hostess Mrs Vella Bowyer guiding proceedings. Phyllis led opening songs Silent Night and It Came Upon the Midnight Clear. Psalm 1 read by the hostess as secretary absent. Gwyndoline read minutes of the meeting.
The club met December 4 with seventeen members and one visitor. Members completed two comfort projects and shared a noon dinner. Ten men and six little girls attended the day plus a business meeting opened with hymn singing. Plans were made to serve lunch at the sale of Mr. and
Pastor E. V. Campbell leads Sunday School each week at 10 o clock in Purdin Bear Branch and Morris Chapel. Superintendent Cliff Chambers A E Buswell and Joe Moore assist. Worship and preaching at Purdin next Sunday December 14 at 11 o clock with Laymen's Day Service at 7 30 PM speaker P M Marr of Milan. Worship and preaching on Sunday December 21 at Bear Branch.
The Mt Olive Baptist Church led by Pastor A B Baker holds Sunday School at 10:00 A M. Morning worship at 11:00 A M. Evening services at 7:30 P M. Preaching on the second and fourth Sundays with family night at 7:00 P M on the Saturday before each preaching day.
