Private Hoselton Completes Army Basic Training
Private Paul M. Hoselton, 21, son of Mr and Mrs J T Hoselton of Browning Missouri, completed sixteen weeks of Army Basic Training with the 3rd Armored Division at Port Knox in August 1952. He trained in general military subjects and combat skills including M1 rifle carbine .45 pistol grenades, with special instruction for tank crew platoon tactics and driving armored and wheeled vehicles. He entered service February 21, 1952.

C B and Q Railroad Cuts Telegraph Service
The C B and Q Railroad reduced telegraph service to Browning, Purdin, and Linneus while Western Union in Browning earns about $400 annually. MFA has spent 12000 building a new elevator. the station handled about 40000 in business last year with MFA receipts around 30000. Last year 81 grain cars and 170 freight cars used the line. about 50 bean carloads expected this fall. City council urged contact with Burlington’s Hinshaw, but no response followed. Attempts to arrange a hearing failed. officials offered limited replies. Citizens claim the railroad is forcing the change and protest to President Murphy.

Mr and Mrs Paul Warren and daughter Elizabeth Rath attended the funeral of Tommy McCarthy in Eldora Iowa last Tuesday and Wednesday. Born July 26 1924 in Browning Missouri he died August 17 1952 at age 28. He was survived by his parents three sisters and his brother Elwin who preceded him in death. Funeral services were at 930 Wednesday in the Catholic Church.
