Grasshopper Poison Program in Sullivan County
Grasshopper control in Sullivan County uses over 40000 pounds of poison bran. Dean Knights, foreman of the mixing plant, says about 350 farmers have used the bait to protect crops. While effective, the method is preventive not curative and is used too late for maximal benefit. Several farmers saved their corn, though demand has fallen. The mixing plant will operate only one day weekly. Continued on back page.
