Peterson Reunion Held at Browning Legion Home

The Peterson Reunion took place at the Browning Legion Home on Sunday August 18 after rain forced the move from Chillico park. Attendees listed include multiple Petersons, relatives from Beardstown Albia Milan and Browning, with a noon basket dinner and an afternoon of singing and visiting.

Family Reunion at Shafter Home Honors Kansas-Cresent Guests

A small family reunion was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Gooch of Shafter on Sunday to honor Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stevenson and daughter Mrs. Carl Ellis of Hutchinson Kansas. A bountiful basket dinner followed at noon. The afternoon featured visiting and music with Mrs. Ellis at the piano. Relatives present included Mrs. Linn Gooch and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Morley of Laclede, Mrs. Lena Phillips and Mrs. Nannie LaFee of Linneus, Mrs. Fabian Phillips of Kansas City, and Mary Lee Gooch of the home. Several relatives were prevented by rain and bad roads.

Vernon and Gilbert Head Host Enterprise 4-H Meeting

Enterprise 4 H Club met at the Enterprise School house on August 10 with Vernon and Gilbert Head hosting. Twenty two members and twenty six visitors attended. Pledge to the flags opened the meeting. No business was recorded. Songs games and refreshments followed.

Funeral Services for Robert J McCollum Held in North Salem

Robert J McCollum born December 25 1860 in Linn County Missouri died July 26 1950 at North Salem age 89 years 7 months 1 day. Survived by wife Minnie Lee and three living children Tatlow W McCollum Paul B McCollum and Mrs Martha Taylor plus twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. He taught school for fifteen years and was a renowned auctioneer for forty years. Funeral services July 28 1950 at North Salem Methodist Church conducted by Rev Fred P Hanes with Masonic pallbearers and Merrimaid Club flower girls. Interment in North Salem cemetery.

Reunion for Class of Pur din High At City Hall

The Purdin High class of 1926 held a reunion at City Hall in Purdin on August 18 with a large purple and white cake, class colors, and display of the class pennant. Alva Bagley acted as master of ceremonies. J F Morrissay proposed expanding the reunion to all alumni and the next gathering was set for May 1951 at the Purdin 100 building with teachers and alumni invited.
