Public Eye highlights Missouri State University ties in politics
The Public Eye notes how candidates for the August primaries on both parties trace their education to Missouri's public university. It cites Cowherd, Anderson, Graves, Shelton, Gentry, Fulkerson, Gmelich, McKinley, and Stone as alumni, linking tuition reforms to increased enrollment and opportunity, and ends with a Brookfield fair premium pitch.

From Sullivan County to Jefferson City in Missouri Exposition
J M Wattenbarger returned from Jefferson City where Missouri Commission of the James ton Exposition approved selling their building for 3200 dollars, the highest price for any state building on the grounds. About 2500 dollars were turned over to the state treasurer as the commission adjourned sine die. The Milan Standard notes strong corn prospects in Sullivan County with yields of 80 to 100 bushels per acre if favorable weather continues, while hay is lighter but of better quality. Other brief items cover thefts in Unionville and Mendon, a restitution story, a hunting trip by Circuit Clerk J N Wilson and friend, and a humorous note on truthfulness and liberty in reporting from the Bulletin.
