Missouri Men to Register April 27 under 45 to 64 rule

Missouri announces the fourth registration for men aged 45 to 64 under the Selective Training and Service Act. Colonel Claude C. Earp outlines three requirements including residence details, registration location, and answering registrar questions. Registrants receive a certificate and future occupational questionnaire. Tragic Accident Costs Life of Chas M Smith Brookfield

Chas M Smith 61 was killed when a Fordson tractor he operated on the Burlington station plaza overturned burying him beneath it. He moved from Shelby to Brookfield recently and was a well known local worker. Funeral services are Sunday at 2:30 PM from Rusky Funeral Home with burial in Rose Hill. He leaves a wife six children ten grandchildren and three sisters.

Sugar rationing books to be issued in coming registration

The Office of Price Administration urges the nation to prepare for the sugar rationing registration on May 4 5 and 6 and 7. One family member will register at the nearest elementary school for all members of the household. Applicants should bring a family list full descriptions of each member and exact relationship to the registrant. The amount of sugar in the home and per person will determine stamp issuance and possible delays. A family unit is defined as two or more people living together related by blood or marriage.

Morris School Closes Friday With Student Program

On Friday April 3 Morris School held its closing day with a noon meal and a program by twelve pupils. Prizes and certificates for perfect attendance went to Esther Virginia and Ola Mae Linhart Orville Alpha Morris and Harold Hubert and Harry Lee Pfeiffer. Esther Linhart was the only graduate and earned Nature Knight badges with Harold Pfeiffer. Mahala Kille was the teacher.

Miss Mildred Schrock Weds Roger Bozdeck in Omaha

Miss Mildred Schrock daughter of Mrs. Hattie M. Schrock married Roger P. Bozdeck of Omaha at First Methodist Church Omaha on April 11, 1942. She taught in Missouri high schools then lab X ray and hospital work in Illinois Ohio and Nebraska. Bozdeck, son of Mrs. Carrie Bozdeck, is a longtime Omaha baker who will work for Union Pacific during the war. couple to reside in Omaha.

Adlia Nelson Grice and Mildred Gramling were married at the Milan Missouri court house by Justice of Peace Cleeton on April 16 1942. General Purpose Club held its Thursday April 16 meeting with thirteen members three visitors and nine children present. A rag rags project was noted as lacking.
