Miss Martha Penn of Browning died after a despondent disappearance near the river. Born March 14, 1874, she had recently faced family illness and fires. A night search traced her steps to the bridge and dam, with her body recovered about twelve miles downstream the following day.

F A Fleming received a Sunday morning message from F J Wiley of Wellington Kansas about the death of his wife Mrs Wiley that morning. Born and raised here she was known and respected by all. She had been failing health for months and is survived by her husband four children and her mother Mrs Emma Biswell with many relatives and friends.

Mrs. Wade Hines died Friday at her parents home in this city. She leaves a four week old child and her husband plus many relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday at Deep Springs cemetery after the body was laid to rest.
