Dr H P Haning, a Warrensburg based eye ear nose and throat specialist, died unexpectedly in a clinic waiting room. He practiced in Purdin for years and had lived in Warrensburg for five years. Funeral services were held yesterday in Warrensburg.
Mrs Mary C Jacobs aged 90 died at her home on March 30 at 8 35 p m She was born December 3 1846 in Sullivan county Missouri the last of nine children She married J B Jacobs February 28 1869 and had eleven children Surviving are her husband two daughters Eva Warren and Blanche Myers four sons Roy Frank Grover and Claude twenty grandchildren seventeen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren Funeral services were held April 2 at Locust Valley Church conducted by Rev Tate of Galt Missouri and she was interred in the nearby cemetery.
Family members express gratitude to friends and neighbors for assistance and sympathy during the illness and death of Mrs. J. S. Jacobs. J. S. Jacobs, children, and grandchildren.
James Leonard Bailey born April 16 1880 in Linn County Missouri grew up near Browning. He married Retta Sides in 1904 and had two daughters Opal Neely and Vanita Stufflebean. Survived by brother Charles E Bailey sister Ida J Thurlo seven grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services held at M E Church at two o clock Thursday April 8 conducted by Rev O B Hobbs with interment following.

Millard Filmore Hall born March 25 1862 died April 12 1937. Married Mary Head four children three girls one boy. Later married Laura Bunch January 27 1889 and had four children. Joined Baptist Church in 1912 and requested no flowers. Funeral held Tuesday at North Salem with Rev O B Hobbs officiating. Interment in nearby cemetery.
Mr and Mrs Paul Gooch and sons Gale and Lyle with the family left early Saturday for Washington to locate. The group travels in a new truck carrying a house build on its bed, signaling a mobile home search promising new beginnings.
Dr and Mrs Ray Duncan Mrs C W Gooch Mrs Eunice Dickinson and Mrs Burton Carr attend the funeral of Marvin McDavid at Standley funeral home Carrollton on Thursday afternoon April 8. McDavid visited here with his wife Lula Duncan formerly of Brookfield where they ran hotels and he later managed the Howard Hotel in Fayette. Mrs McDavid shares in the sympathy of friends in this sad hour.

The General Purpose Club met at Mrs. Ver Dell s home on Thursday April 8 with fourteen members and several guests. They enjoyed dinner, piecing quilt blocks, embroidery tea towels, and a picture contest. The next gathering will be at Mrs. Alice Duckworth s home to decide on making a dress for a member, materials and pattern to be supplied by the member. If successful more garments may follow.
The Auxiliary Unit and Post No. 274 of the American Legion meet to form sponsor group for a Sons of the American Legion squadron. Eligibility: boys with veteran parents. A Graves Registration effort and Memorial Day planning are announced, with headstones for all wars offered by the Government. Members discuss fundraising, new member Mrs. Wilma Dowdy, and an upcoming April 22 meeting.
Notice announces the third annual stockholders meeting of Citizens Savings Bank of Browning Missouri to elect seven directors for the ensuing year and to conduct any other business. On April 8 the Dry Ridge Club met with president Mrs Lil lian Bennett and members Nancy Bennett Alice Fishback Hazel Johns Trissie Tate Edna Falconer Goldin Belcher Alma Cotter Pearl Mundell. Visitors included Alpha Powell and daughters Wilma Dowdy Jean Nell Mrs Aggie Mullins Sam Falconer Ned.
The M. E. Church South lists Sunday school at 10:00 a.m. preaching at 11:00 a.m. and 7:45 p.m. with pastor W. M. Owen. A prayer meeting is set for Thursday night at Mrs. Harry Woolf's house. A warm welcome awaits worshippers.

The Jolly Workers gathered at Mrs. Veda Lambert’s home on March 31 for sewing then a covered dish lunch. A business meeting followed with six members answering roll call and a prize won by Mahala Kille in a contest by Mrs. Havens. Next meeting set for April 12 at Mrs. Brad Kinfong’s.
Miss Deloris Stephenson and Mr Beverly Rusk wed in Trenton on Tuesday April 6 in a family surrounded ceremony. They travelled to Rock Island Illinois to visit relatives and seek employment after supper with the groom’s cousin. The bride, daughter of Johnie Stephenson, attended Milan High School two years. The groom, son of Charley Rusk, is a Galt High School graduate.
After dissolving the partnership Peterson Bros Garage is now operated by B. H. Peterson who has moved the stock and equipment to the Virgie Haggard building on Main Street across from the former site. The business expands to battery electrical work lathe machine services and auto parts plus a wrecker for emergency road service.
Dog licenses are due now. Fees are one dollar for dogs and three dollars and nine cents for female dogs. All dogs must wear a collar displaying the 1937 tag. Herbert Bailey, Mayor.
The Friendship Circle Club met with Mrs. Oscar Blender on April 9 for an afternoon session. Five members attended with visitors and one new member, Mrs. Sam Remick. They planned a weiner roast for April 16 and a 4 H club organization on April 17 at the school house, and had a shower for Mrs. Brown.

At a board meeting last Wednesday night and a Monday meeting called by Pres. W D Grice, the following teachers were elected for the 1937 1938 school year: Principal Harry Anderson Commerce Alpha Brantner Music Almeda Johnson Grammar Edward Williams Intermediate Harriet Wicker Primary Lorraine Glaze Building Custodian Lafe Bennett.
The three act comedy drama George In Jam was staged at the high school auditorium on Wednesday evening last week. The packed audience laughed throughout as the cast showcased their hard work under director Mrs. Alpha Branner. Ed ward Williams sang a tenor solo and Eugene Brassfield played two harmonica pieces between acts, all earning strong applause. Cast members included John Burwell Inogen Hanman Gale Gooen Betty Baker Paul Smith Margaret Bagley Hazel Meggart Gail Carter J. W. McQuown and Junior Haley.
