MRS M Etta Pridemore Passes Sudden Death in Meadville

Mary Etta Casidy Pridemore known as Etta Pridemore died suddenly at her Meadville Missouri home on March 27 1944 aged 72ji She was survived by three children thirteen grandchildren two great grandchildren and two brothers The Mt Olive Baptist Church member was described as a devoted mother and friend Funeral services were held at Mt Olive Church with burial under E J Robertson Laredo supervision.

Bob Hope and Betty Hutton Star in Let's Face It

The Browning Electric Theatre will show Paramount's Let's Face It featuring Bob Hope and Betty Hutton next weekend. The musical comedy based on a Broadway hit follows a soldier led to help three wives prick jealous husbands for money. The cast includes Dana Drake Cully Richards Eve Arden ZaSu Pitts and more with Cole Porter tunes.

Mothers Club Planned for Service Families Meeting

To all mothers wives and sisters of men in United States services a meeting is called at the Legion Home in this city on Saturday afternoon April 8. Mrs Norrott of Brookfield will organize a Mothers Club with a charter of at least eighteen to twenty members. Plan to attend and join if possible.

The Sol-Vilian chorus appeared solo Sunday in Paducah Kentucky after a March postponement due to weather and illness. Pfe Edward Williams from Camp Tyson sang with Larue Chapman accompanying while a church auxiliary hosted a post performance supper. The W S of C S met March 30 at Mrs. W R Rhodes home with sixteen members. Mrs M Leaning led worship on Retaining Walls within ourselves, aided by five members. A duet by Mrs Ira Nevins and Mrs Velma Jennings was enjoyed. Elizabeth Anne Ellsberry was elected delegate to the conference at Moberly April 19 21 with Lillian Bennett as alternate.
