Brownfield drill tests county emergency personnel readiness
City and county officials staged a Thursday disaster drill at Brownfield to test emergency response capabilities amid a simulated mass fire at Massa's Department Store. The exercise, directed by Texas DPS official R W Ewing, involved police, sheriff, fire, and utility chiefs and ran through the afternoon. Brownfield also learned its $208 700 Texas Community Development Block Grant was approved to replace water and sewer lines near Terry County Park.
