Barry Assails Evils of Super Government at Rotary

Desmond Barry of Houston Republican candidate for Congressman at Large spoke at The Party House to about 35 supporters. He blasted a super government philosophy and Hoffa led Teamsters, urging citizens to take back government and donate to his campaign. He criticized Kennedy, UN, foreign aid, and the Kennedy farm program while pledging a cantankerous bid for Congress.

Brownfield Woman Receives Probation in Non Jury Case Record

Judge M C Ledbetter in the 121st District Court imposed three years probation on Bobby Jean Thomas, awarded 444.70 damages in a personal injury suit for H L Allman and others against Bonner Lytler, granted five divorces, and dismissed three divorces and an adoption case dating to 1955.

Longtime Local Pastor Resigns from First United Presbyterian

The Rev. Ralph O'Dell resigns as pastor of First United Presbyterian Church and will preach his last sermon today before moving with his wife to Cleburne to serve at First Presbyterian Church. Since 1954 he expanded membership, added a sanctuary and wings, helped launch the Presbyterian Teen Canteen, and supported local Rotary, commerce, and youth programs. A farewell reception from 3 to 5 p.m. in the church parlor will honor the couple.

QB Club Will Convene Monday
