Burglary at Melvin Stevenson Residence Reported
Police investigate a burglary at the Melvin Stevenson residence dated August 22, 1982. Loot included a Keith Stevenson savings bond worth 25 dollars, 122 dollar bills, 40 Eisenhower silver dollars, a silver belt buckle with bear claws, 200 half-dollars, 10 silver dollars, 50 Indian head pennies, and other money.

Tax Rebates Show Increase Over Last Year

Five Arrests by Brownfield Police This Week
Brownfield police report five arrests from Tuesday to Friday including two for shoplifting at Farr's Supermarket. A suspect was caught taking a beef brisket worth 8.90 and another arrested for carrying a carton of cigarettes. Additional arrests were for disorderly conduct and tampering with a city meter. A 1981 Chevrolet pickup sustained $500 radiator damage at Paw Power Racquetball courts, and seven windows at a residence on East Repp were shot with a BB gun causing about $150 in damages.
