Area students urged to enter VFW scholarship competition
Brownfield VFW Commander Walter Caviness announced the kick off to this year's Voice of Democracy Scholarship Competition. Terry County High School students may compete in the 57th annual audio essay contest for thousands in scholarships, a Washington D C trip, and more, with a theme My commitment to America's Future. Local winners advance to district then state rounds with substantial prizes, including a potential $25,000 first place national award. Entry deadline is Nov 1 at VFW Post 6794 and through school offices.
