Vir gin Travis and Carl Golden of Brownfield were elected directors of Plains Textiles Inc which plans a 750000 dollar yarn mill at Loop 289 and Idalou Highway in Lubbock. The plant will employ about 65 people with a 200000 dollar payroll and begin operations in early January 1966.

Cattle Test Urged for Terry County Farmers
Terry County farmers are urged to have cattle tested for brucellosis to maintain certification. County Agent Jim Foy says tests must be completed by Oct 10, with no charge for the test. Dannecker Draws Stiff Penalty In Terry County Court
In Terry County Court Judge R A Simms presided over 29 cases with five convictions. Dannecker received the harshest penalty a $50 fine 3 days jail and six month license suspension for DWI. Other fines included $25 for disturbance and $25 for aggravated assault. Several defendants faced liquor violations and DWIs with mixed outcomes.
