Farm Tour set to showcase area crops in Terry County
The 2006 Terry County Farm Tour departs from the First Baptist Church at 9 a.m. with five stops. It will name a Terry County Farm Family of the Year and a Terry County Young Farmer of the Year, feature on-bus descriptions by Soil and Water Conservation District board members, and include presentations by Dr. Terry Wheeler on cotton diseases and IPM farmer Scott Russell on PIMA cotton. Last year’s Young Farmer was Greg Martin. the Family of the Year was the Jackie Burris family. A catered meal by the 2B Ranch Chuckwagon will conclude the tour, with meal tickets sold at the Barn for five dollars.
