Farmer loses arm in ensilage cutter accident near Brownfield

Homer Causseaux, 1309 East Buckley, working alone 13 miles northwest of Brownfield, was pulled into an ensilage cutter. His right arm was mangled and amputated near the shoulder at Terry County Hospital after rescuers and hired help aided his release. He received multiple blood transfusions and rested after the incident.

Committeemen Elected By Mail For Terry ASC 1961 62

Terry farmers select nine community ASC committeemen for 1961 62 by mail. Ballots must reach the Terry ASC office by Sept 15 with a public tally set for Sept 18. The ballot lists ten nominees per community, with five winners determining the community officials. After Sept 18, nine community chairmen meet to elect the county committee. Gunslingers at Second Annual Texas Shoot-Out

Ten Brownfield men from the Terry County Gunslingers Association will compete in the Texas Top Gun Shoot-Out at Rimrock City on Hwy 80 between Odessa and Midland. Participants include Gene McWilliams Elvis Hook Tommy Hook Jerry Howell Lejeune Lincoln Francis Carnes Don Gentry Jonas Worsham Ken Draper and Sonny Zant. McWilliams will challenge Texas champion Don Warren of Fort Worth in three divisions with a $100 cash prize and a large trophy awarded.

About 500 golfers from Texas and Eastern New Mexico converge on Brownfield Country Club for the seventh annual API Blind Bogey Tournament. Caravan Slated For Levelland Trip By Brownfield Club

A car caravan will leave Brownfield High School at 6 45 p m Friday to travel to Levelland for the Cub Lobo football game. Brownfield Quarterback Club sponsors the event and will distribute red and white crepe paper for decorations as officers urge a large crowd to back the Cubs and display colors.
