Brownfield band earns Division I at UIL 3A contest
Brownfield High School Spirit of the Plains Marching Band, over 100 members, earned a Division I rating at the UIL Marching Contest held at Jones Stadium. The group performed The Doors tunes under band director Richard Herrera and will finish the season with halftime appearances at Cub football games. Twirler Tyler Willis also earned a Division I rating and will compete at the State Solo and Ensemble Contest in May.

Billy Dobson is this week's Good Neighbor in Brownfield. Since 1974 he has managed the Terry County office of Eddins Walcher and served the company for 35 years. Dobson and family raised three sons and active in community groups including the Brownfield Optimist Club, Chamber of Commerce, BHS Athletic Club, Band Boosters, and First Baptist Sunday School. He enjoys westerns, German sausage, and open spaces, hunts coyotes in Terry County, and plans to keep working with no retirement in sight.
