Terry County FSA announces a one time Wool and Mohair Market Loss Assistance Program offering 20 cents per pound for wool and 40 cents per pound for mohair to producers who shorn livestock in 1999. Signup runs October 10 through December 29. applications due at local county office.

Tara Garza won the 2.2 mile varsity girls race in 13 22 at the Sundown Oil Patch Cross Country Meet on Oct 7. Julian Alaniz placed 5th in junior varsity boys with 23 58. Other BHS runners posted top finishes across varsity and junior varsity divisions amid cold wind. The next Brownfield meet is in Levelland on Oct 21.
