At 6 p.m. migrant classes from Colonial Heights and Oak Grove are featured, followed at 6:30 by a Powder Puff football game between junior and senior girls.
Debbie Herring of Brownfield wins local Miss Farmers Insurance Group title for the 1974 Pasadena Tournament of Roses float. Sponsored by Ken Lawlis, she advances to the state contest overseen by Harold Roulette. state winner goes to national finals for a chance at a paid trip to Pasadena. The 18 year old Brownfield High student stands 5 7 with brown hair and blue eyes and aims for airline work and interior decorating.
Terry County farms report steady cotton harvest with a base count of 52 710 late Friday attributed to Guy Britton of the Texas Employment Commission. Weather remains favorable and growers expect completion in December this year.
