A Brownfield mother and her 18 month old daughter were treated and released from Brownfield General Hospital after minor injuries in a car train collision shortly after noon Saturday. Police also searched the wreck site for a 15 year old boy who was a third passenger and disappeared.
The Brownfield based 142nd Infantry Battalion detachment trained in Air Mobile operations after weather delayed plans at Reese AFB and Plainview. Helicopter flights at 3,000 to 4,000 feet reached 130 mph, cutting travel to Plainview to about forty minutes. The unit’s mobility hinges on helicopters and mechanized infantry, enabling rapid deployment and camp breaks.

Meet Your Nabor Doyle Corder of Seagraves the new service manager at Charles Darwin Ford. A Texas native born in Turkey Texas in October 1935 to Mr and Mrs Fred Corder, he moved to Seagraves with his family. Corder began in automotive work at age 13 with McAdoo Chevrolet in Seagraves.
The Brownfield United Fund Drive reached 14,068.34 in total collections by noon Tuesday, about 42 percent of the 33,480 forecast. UF chairman Johnny Stockton said donations were coming in slow. one more report session is set for Tuesday to raise the remaining funds and close the drive by Wednesday.
