Federal agents arrested a Brownfield man on drug distribution charges with assistance from Terry County deputy Kenneth Tuttle. Charles Benny Hicks, a spray plane pilot, is jailed in Lubbock County on a $10,000 bond set by Magistrate J Q Warnick. Earl Elwayne Carouth Jr pled guilty in 1211st District Court to burglary of a habitation and received a 15 year prison term for a Sept. 24 entry into Dennis Givens’ home with intent to steal. He had a prior 1986 burglary conviction noted in the indictment. Tyrone Ervin also pled guilty to theft over 750 dollars and was placed on one year probation.
