Public hearing set on BCISD redistricting plan

BCISD trustees meeting heard MT & Associates present a plan to increase minority shares in precincts 1 and 2 to about 70 percent while preserving a 5-2 structure. Terry County Seeks 24 Hour Quit Ahead of Smokeout

The Terry County Unit of the American Cancer Society plans the Great American Smokeout for Thursday urging all smokers to quit for 24 hours. Brownfield volleyball picks three on 3-3A All-District team

Three members of the Lady Cubs varsity volleyball squad earned first team All-District 3-3A honors after the 1992 season. Becky Brisendine, Traysa Field, and Stacy Hinson were named to the elite squad as Brownfield finished second in 3-3A and reached the playoffs. Brisendine leads as top hitter, while Field and Hinson are the top setters returning for next season. The team improved from a 2-22 1991 record to 16-6 in non district play, winning Brownfield Tournament and taking second in the Lee District.
