Terry County Election Totals Show Incumbents Winning

About 33.43 percent of Terry County voters cast ballots, with 2,539 of 7,594 registered voters voting. Incumbents won in key races: County Judge Doug Ryburn defeated Wade Cowan 1,656 to 828, and Commissioner Dale Andrews beat Larry Young 368 to 264. Multiple county offices went unopposed.

Perry leads Texas Governor race in local votes

In Terry County and statewide results Perry led the governor race with 1.2 million votes to Bell's nearly 950,000 while Strayhorn and Friedman trailed. Terry County backed Heflin for county judge and Neugebauer for U.S. representative, with margins varying by county.

Judge Moore sentences two in District Court

In 121st District Court this week Judge Moore and Judge Kelly Moore presided over two plea bargain cases. Debbie DeLeon, 23, received a three year sentence in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for retaliation and will pay 261 dollars in court costs and 300 dollars in attorney fees. Davie Gonzales Jr, 24, was sentenced to five years in state custody for burglary of a habitation and five years of community supervision. he must pay 261 court costs, 25 time payment fee and 525 attorney fees and attend Alcoholic/Narcotics Anonymous sessions.
