Statewide and Terry County election results on Build Texas amendments

Voters statewide approved four of eight Build Texas amendments including public financing for private business to spur development, prison bonds, SSC bonds, and an extra 400 million water bond. Terry County matched statewide on prison SSC and water bonds, but supported one Build Texas proposal not statewide, a local government facilities bond. Willis attributes turnout to heavy pari mutuel interest and church involvement, noting Terry County is not gambling minded. 27 percent turnout reflected broad but limited attention to the ballot.
