A Halloween rumor in Levelland claimed a virgin would be sacrificed to Satan. The tale, started by transfer students, spread through the community and to Brownfield, alarming parents. He vows to focus on troubled youth and plans to contact voters ahead of the primary.

Johnnie Roe 41 a Brownfield area resident and farmer-rancher for 20 years has announced plans to run for Terry County Sheriff. A certified peace officer and jailor with 20 months as full time officer, Roe urged community trust and emphasized addressing the drug problem to keep Brownfield safe. He and wife Stella Rice have three children and he aims to return Brownfield to its prior safe status.
