Hospital Board Approves Staff Handbook Revisions

The Terry Memorial Hospital District board approved six revisions to the employee handbook after staff meetings. Revisions affect all departments including holiday time sick leave and vacation pay provisions.

Terry County commissioners adopt a two percent levy on bingo games after brief discussion. They also approve Cities Service Company request to cut or bore roads for a four inch pipeline west of State Highway 137 between Sections 92 71 north and 3 south. Bond for Constable Precinct 1 is approved. Republicans set county convention May 15 in City Hall with a full executive committee. Board revises hospital employee benefits including holiday sick leave and vacation pay pro rated after six months, overtime rules, maternity benefits, and group insurance changes.

Terry County SWCD Honored as Region One Top District

About 300 attendees watched as Terry County Soil and Water Conservation District accepted Region One’s outstanding district award at a West Texas State University banquet. District director Duane Moss highlighted conservation practices including terraces, crop rotation, pivot irrigation, and soil organic matter enhancements by board members Keesee Jones Hartman Wheatley Luker, noting long farming tenure in Terry County since 1921.

Area Graduation Dates Announced

Brownfield Police Report Nine Arrests in Early May

Brownfield Police Department records show nine arrests and 20 offense reports for the period ending May 11, with 167 calls for assistance. Offense items include four commercial burglaries, one attempted commercial burglary, one motor vehicle burglary, three for disorderly conduct, three for simple assault, three for theft, one prowler, and one aggravated assault. Arrests comprised five for public intoxication, one assault, one theft, one disorderly conduct, and one traffic warrant.

Lions Start Door to Door Sales Drive at Brownfield Sale

Brownfield Chamber Lunch Set Thursday at First Methodist

The Brownfield Chamber of Commerce will hold a quarterly luncheon at noon Thursday at First United Methodist Church. The Dutch treat lunch costs $5 and will be followed by a program of special entertainment. A board meeting will immediately follow.
