Mrs. Mac recalls Terry County history with humor and a six week snowstorm memory. She is a longtime Brownfield resident known for helping others and her ready smile. She serves as Noble Grand of the Robe See No. 1 Page 2.
Mrs B L McPherson known as Mae arrived in Ter ry County May 7 1902 with her parents from Brownwood. She married B L McPherson Dec 19 1906 and had six children five living Lela Mae Brown Frances Craig J W McPherson Barton McPherson and Ulee Thelma died in 1950.
Walter Morman 85 a Plains rancher and peace officer died at Treadaway Daniels Hospital after an extended illness. He moved to Yoakum County in 1913 from Haskell County and will be buried in Plains Cemetery after services at Plains First Christian Church. Surviving are two sons Roy and Guy and two daughters Mrs Elmer Cross and Mrs Carl Rushing and a sister Mrs Henry Griffin along with several grandchildren great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Brown High School football coach Doug Cox announces a full dress scrimmage at Cub Stadium Tuesday at 8 p.m. The spring training wind-up is free to fans and will test near-term talent for next season. Notable improvements include tackles Garry White Johnny Jones Gus Foshee guard Jim Rogers end Bob Cloe and QB hopefuls Joe Oswell Ken Willis.
A. E F. Dyatt district airport engineer for the Civil Aeronautics Administration will meet Terry County officials on Tuesday to discuss establishing the City- County Airport four miles east of Brownfield. The project advances as voters approved a bond issue and Ralph Douglas reports progress on master plans to be reviewed by CAA before July.
Final plans for the Terry County Cotton Review are nearly complete with about six maid candidates. The Friday and Saturday shows feature four age groups on Friday and additional Cotton candidates on Saturday in the high school auditorium.
Final date for disposition of excess wheat in Terry County extended to May 20. Love Miller, ASC head, confirms authorization via telegram from G Carothers. Miller notes disposition methods unchanged, but county committee must justify extensions due to adverse weather.

The Howitzer Company of the Second Matation, 12th Armored Cavalry Regiment will host an Armed Forces Day open house for Terry County residents on Seagraves Road. The event includes exhibits of military equipment, a noon luncheon, and a barbecue with First Lieutenant Victor Herring as the keynote speaker.
Brownfield ministers from the Brownfield Ministerial Association will tour Terry Farms on Monday. The visit, hosted by Terry Sailvation District supervisors, includes lunch and serves as part of preparation for Stewardship Week beginning June 2. The group will assemble at 10 a.m. at First Bay Church.
Virgil Crawford of American Legion Post 29 attends the Fifth Division annual split convention in Sweetwater. He left Thursday to attend the two day meeting starting today.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars will hold a Buddy Poppy sale on May 25 with proceeds aiding veterans and hospital programs. Jack Alten cites the event as a reminder of those still serving and to support veteran recovery efforts.
