Brownfield’s 1981 Harvest Festival is set for Sept. 26 after board discussion. The last Saturday in September was chosen despite overlapping with the Panhandle South Plains Fair and Tech football. Directors also outlined queen contest rules tying float entry to eligibility, talent and tickets, with tie breakers by talent points, and approved a $500 first prize for the float contest.

Murder And Robbery Trials Sa in District Court
The 121st district court will try Victor Cantu for the March 3 1980 murder of Pablo Martinez found shot in his front yard.
