Literacy tutors to form support group at library

Immigration reform act penalties tightened after June first

As of June 1 the immigration and naturalization service will stop issuing warning citations for first violations of the 1986 act. First violations may incur civil or criminal penalties, with fines from 250 to 2000 per unauthorized employee. Subsequent fines can reach 10000, and record keeping penalties may add up to 1000 per employee. Criminal penalties of 3000 per employee or six months in jail apply for patterns of knowingly employing illegal aliens. Brownfield Sampler Trades Show Returns This Weekend

The Brownfield Sampler trade show, in its second edition, runs Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the old Farr's Super Market building 500 E Main.
