Pioneer Days At Brownfield And School Activities
Last summer BMS students competed and won at Cheyenne Frontier Days in Wyoming. They visited Spurge Carroll Ranch north of Brownfield on a Thursday morning for chuckwagon cooking, black powder rifle, tanning hides, jerky making, roping, leather working, archery and more at ten stations. The following Friday the seventh graders did indoor pioneer activities at the school including tortilla making, churning, soap making, corn husk dolls, spinning, quilting, and scarecrows with various instructors and volunteers.
