GTE Southwest to cut jobs after PUC ruling
GTE Southwest President E L Buddy Langley announced Monday that layoffs will total about 600 Texas employees, plus over 100 contractors and 400 vacancies, following a PUC order to cut rates by 59 million. The company plans over 100 million in capital cuts and defers modernization and a new Irving facility, with further $2 to $3 million in reduced expenses. BRMC Board Election Set Saturday
The Terry Memorial Hospital District board election happens 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. this Saturday at the County Clerk office in the Courthouse.
