Sesquicentennial Trail Ride Stops in Brownfield Greeted by Officials

The 1300 mile Brownfield stop of Texas Sesquicentennial Trail Ride drew city and county leaders as trail boss James Martin says the 3200 mile journey will end July 4 at the San Jacinto battleground. Donated funds aid Boys Harbor as Mary Gillett notes riders number 10 at Brownfield and sometimes reach 250.

Property owners reminded of rendition deadline in Texas

A statewide effort urges Texas property owners to file renditions by March 31 and seek tax relief by April 30. Renditions list taxable property as of January 1 and may record property value opinions. Exemptions reduce taxes. rendition forms travel to the Terry County appraisal office for filing.

Hale earns Brownfield Outstanding Sophomore honor

Amy Hale was named the first annual Brownfield Kiwanis Outstanding Sophomore for 1986 at K-Bob’s. A Brownfield High School student council representative, she excels in math and science clubs, tutors peers, volunteers at Terry County Museum, and runs a preschool class in summer. Her plaque will hang at BHS. she is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Tom Hale.
