Brownfield sees March sales tax rise over 15 percent
March 2000 state sales tax payment to Brownfield reached 58,099.81 dollars up from 50,142.34 the prior year reflecting a 15.86 percent increase. Year to date Brownfield totals 200,047.50 dollars, up 6.29 percent from last year while statewide monthly payments rose to 196.1 million across 1104 cities and 119 counties, a 13.4 percent year over year gain.

Transfer deadline nears for 2000 01 school year
The April 28 transfer deadline applies to moving students between districts. Parents wishing to transfer to Brownfield CISD must complete a transfer form at the Administrative Offices, 601 Tohoka Road, from 8 a.m. to 4 30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Wellness walk kicks off six week BCISD program
BCISD staff begin a six week walking program titled Walk a Mile in My Shoes requiring a minimum distance of one mile or 20 minutes walking. Tally sheets are due May 1 in the BHS Office.
