WTCC Receives License for Residential Treatment Center
The West Texas Children’s Center was notified last week that it has licenses to operate as a residential treatment center and emergency shelter. Interim director Norman Lockett said two children have moved into the residential unit, with more soon to join the longer term program on Bynum Lane. The facility plans to house up to 48 youths, 14 in emergency shelter and 34 in residential care, as it stabilizes operations and begins state payments. Youth for Tomorrow inspectors gave a top pass rating in January across 105 areas, and WTCC aims to full staffing before all youngsters arrive.
