Terry County 4-H youngsters earned cash and honors at the Houston Livestock Show. Meadow resident Rusty Day’s Reserve Grand Champion AOB Steer sold for 90,000 dollars to Red Adair. Shannon Jordan won 27,000 dollars for her Red Angus Steer. Henson and Jones, both from Brownfield, posted top earnings with a 10,000 dollar first prize for Henson’s Lightweight Shorthorn and 5,500 dollars for Jones’s Middleweight Shorthorn. Patrons paid 132,500 for five top steers and about 20,500 for local hog entries, including a 12,500 dollar Reserve Champion Berkshire for Jones.
