The Brownfield High School junior class presents Arsenic and Old Lace at 8 p m Friday directed by Miss Lavoy Berry. The three act comedy follows Mortimer Brewster and his aunts who have murdered twelve men as they view their acts as Christian service. Anderson Enters Kappa Sigma Pledge at Texas Tech

19 year old Charles Chuck Anderson freshman at Texas Tech makes the pledge list for Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He is son of Rhea Anderson of Lubbock and Mildred Reagan of Dallas and a 1960 Brownfield High School graduate majoring in pre dental at Tech.

Funeral Today for Brownfield Man Killed in Head-On Crash

Larry Leon Lindsey 25 of 1212 South Fourth Brownfield died Friday at 3:30 PM when his pickup collided head on six miles south of Plains with a second pickup driven by Dorothy Dixon 29 of Plains. Lindsey suffered severe head injuries while Dixon died at the scene. Funeral services set for 2 PM today at Calvary Baptist Church with burial in Terry County Memorial Cemetery. Lindsey survived by wife two daughters two sons and several relatives.

Fourth Candidate Files For City Council Post

A fourth name joined the Brownfield City Council candidate list for the April 4 election. Howard Hurd of 1008 East Tate, a Terry farmer and dirt contractor, filed, joining incumbents Marion Bowers, Ross O. Black, and Curtis J. Sterling. Today is the final filing day. contact Mayor Jess McWherter or City Secy. Jake Geron to meet the deadline. Bids were opened for a water pump at the City Power & Light Plant cooling tower, with Brownfield firms dominating bidders. The council will consider bids from J. B. Knight Machinery, Brown Supply Co., Western Pump & Supply, and F. B. Skaggs Drilling Co. The Nordberg generator drives the need. Mayor McWherter said the council will travel to Lubbock on March 14 to discuss treated water from the Canadian River project and potential regional treatment plans.

Money Stays Here Easter Seals Mailed in County

Hundreds of residents received traditional Easter Seals mailed by the Terry County Society for Crippled Children and Adults Inc. All money stays in Brownsfield and the county. President Mrs. Paul M. Ward released a three month report detailing payments for an orthopedic specialist, a brace, a prescription, partial expenses for a crippled adult to Galveston, travel for three children to Lubbock, and shoes for a child. Friendship Dinner to Welcome UCT Leader Monday

Brownfield Council 825 hosts a friendship dinner at Bil Holder's Coffee Pot on Monday night for William Martin of Tyler who will become head of the United Commercial Travellers of America and Canada in July. Martin currently serves as UCT Supreme Junior Counselor.

Campbell's Opens Doors On Monday

Campbell's will open its doors Monday at 206 West Main. Owner Paul Campbell, a long-time dry goods businessman, returns to Brownfield with his family and four Campbells in the household. A Civil War Centennial observance was held Tuesday in the courthouse with about 40 residents forming the Old Settlers Association. Officers elected were W. A. Bynum president, H. M. Pyeatt vice president, and Mrs. J. A. Beil secretary. directors include Mrs. A. J. Stricklin and County Judge Ray mond A. Simms. Veterans buried in local cemeteries are listed, with Simms presiding and noting the commemoration is supported by patriotic groups and government leaders.

Kirschner's Open House at Brownfield Store Reopens
