Red Cross campaign kicks off with breakfast in Terry County

The Terry County Red Cross fund drive starts Monday with a 9:00 a.m. breakfast at Nick's Cafe where General Fung Chairman B. F. Hutson and workers begin the effort to reach a $3,280 goal. Building Permit Totals Dip to Low Mark in Years

City records show building permits for January and February 1954 total $95 319 with 28 7 permits in January and 67 819 in February. No major projects like church or City Hall began this period. seven new houses and two moves were recorded along with several small commercial and residential works.

Methodists Move From Old Church to New Building

Members of First Methodist observe their final Sunday in the old church as the new facility nears completion. The first services in the new church are set for March 14 under Rev. Dallas Dol. Dennison with a 24 hour vigil concluding on Monday. The $300,000 project began over four years ago and is near completion except for the auditorium.
